R.e.a.c.h. program

This means the program must meet district, state and federal expectations and all instruction must be supervised, monitored, assessed, evaluated and documented by a certificated teacher employed by the school district. In Home Based Instruction homeschooling , the family is entirely responsible for providing the curriculum and instruction.

In this program, parents have the responsibility of directly providing instruction to their child under the professional guidance and supervision of a certificated teacher. In consultation with the family, the REACH teacher creates an individualized written student learning plan in accordance with district, state and federal standards and with the needs and interests of the student in mind.

The student learning plan is used to guide student learning, growth, engagement, and assessment for the year. This selection procedure is to ensure that these materials are aligned with district and state standards and are free from religious content and racial, gender, ethnic or other bias.

Class time includes art instruction, library and writing skills. It is also a time for formative assessment and evaluation of learning goals.

They develop their own learning goals and write reflections to analyze their experience. Inside Out Classes offered in REST and School of Education These courses bring U of R and Gateway students together to explore the juvenile justice system and education in fully shared classes that meet in juvenile hall. For R. We want to thank our amazing team of volunteers for bringing joy, learning, and community to incarcerated youth A special thank you to Probation and teaching staff for all the support they have provided over the last year.

Sincerely, Dr. There are many students that have responded positively to The Program. To illustrate just a few examples, the following individuals displayed great turnarounds. He was verbally and physically combative with adults.

When taught the 'Harmony' breathing technique, he responded positively to me, as well as, his regular teacher, with calm and compliant behavior. He was extremely angry, would enter the classroom pacing, and often verbally attacked and sometimes even charged at students and teachers.

He completed many behavior writing assignments throughout the 90 days I covered his class. By the time I completed the position, he had written me an apology for his past behavior, and showed compliance, respect, and productivity.

According to his math coach teacher, he was even able to pass the FCAT! I first met her in third grade. She had great difficulty with focusing, following directions, and productivity. She also displayed low self-esteem and lack of motivation. I covered her class on a regular basis throughout her third grade year. She did complete many behavior writing assignments for lack of cooperation, as well as, received pep talks on believing in herself, that she is smart and that she can do it.

Two years later, as a fifth-grader, she has blossomed into a motivated, responsible, hardworking, and cooperative student.
